It is situated in a green, fertile oasis in the midst of rock-strewn mountains. An impressive citadel stands on one of these peaks and dates back to the 9th century BC. There are steps carved in to rock leading to the fortress, and while descending you will be able to see some cuneiform inscriptions paying homage to Persian King, Xerxes of the 5th century BC. Enjoy a morning cruise on Lake Van towards the island of Akdamar with its 10th century church of the Holy Cross, now a museum, whose stone outher walls are richly carved with Old Testament scenes and figures. Today we will visit VAn castle and Akdamar Curch. Overnight in Van.
DAY 6 Van - Dogubeyazit
Start the day with a stop at refreshing waterfalls of Muradiye. Then we go to Dogubeyazid for a breathtaking view of Mt. Ararat, throught to be the final resting place of Noahs Ark. We also visit the impressive palace, Drive to Kars Overnight.
DAY 7 Kars
Typical eastern Turkish town. High plateau here creates excellent conditions for the products of yoghurt, milk, honey and meat. We'll go to Ani, Armenian ancient capitol city named after Anahid (Persian goddes worshipped by pagan Urartians) also known as city with 1001 churches.

After breakfast, Today you will visit. Uzungol (Serah Lake) is located 99 km. from Trabzon, 19 Km. from Caykara and 1090m. above the sea level. A great number of broken rocks from the slopes filled up Haldizen stream and Uzungol was formed in ths way. The lake is 1000 m. long, 500 m. in width and 15 m. in depth. It is surrounded by forests. Uzungol has an interesting view with the village houses around it. Overnight in Trabzon.
DAY 11 Trabzon

This Monastary, built in the 14th Century, is the most important Byzantine monument of the region and situated on a cliff 1000 feet above the valley floor, at an altitude of 3900 feet.
